If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, or problems in your relationship, it may seem like health and happiness are far away – or even impossible to reach. Therapy is an integral and important part in helping you recognize and cope with challenges and overcome life’s obstacles. Phillip Barton, LCPC has been trained in assisting individuals and couples through thoughtful therapy and is experienced in helping decrease troubling thoughts and feelings and increasing energy, hope, and wellness.

MY APPROACH

As a provider of psychotherapy / counseling services and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I am dedicated to helping my clients envision and create fulfilling paths and relationships, or to face and process grief and topics related to death and dying. Using a psychodynamic approach, coupled with evidenced-based techniques, I assist individuals and couples in exploring their beliefs, expectations, hopes, and sorrows. I enjoy collaborating and providing a welcoming, safe environment that is free of judgement, an environment in which we will discuss struggles and strengths together.

I am confident and hopeful that you can see a decrease in symptoms and determine the changes necessary to bring greater joy to your life. You don’t have to be controlled by pain, disappointment, or sadness. Our sessions together will provide a place for you to develop tools to cope with life’s stresses and to uncover new perspectives on your thoughts and emotions.

My counseling training and skills focus on wide-range of topics for adult individuals and couples , as well as grief and end of life counseling. Specific areas of experience and training include a range of concerns on which we can work together:

Depression / Anxiety & Anxiety Attacks / Relationship Issues / Trauma / PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) / Grief & Loss / Terminal Illness / LGBTQ Issues & Affirmation / Life Choices & Changes / Survivors of Abuse / Domestic Violence / Social Anxiety / Career & School Issues / Self-Esteem / Anger Issues / Phobias / Addictions / Compulsive Behaviors / OCD / Sleep / Panic Attacks / Suicidal Thoughts / Self-Harm / Spirituality / ADHD, ADD (Attention Deficit concerns) / Military & Veterans Issues / Panic and Panic Attacks / Sexuality & Sexual Issues
